National debate “Structural dialogue and young people” |

Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation was a partner in organizing the first of its kind National debate “Structural dialogue and young people” which took place in the town of Varna between 4 – 8 June 2008. 250 young people, representatives of NGOs, institutions and media all over the country took part in the meeting. Mr. Kiril Yordanov – Mayor of Varna, Ms. Vesela Lecheva – Chairwoman of the State agency of youth and sports and Bettina Swarzmayer – President of the European Youth Forum congratulated the participants. 12 August – International Youth Day |
|
For the first time the 12th of August was officially celebrated in Bulgaria in 2007. This day was defined as the International Youth Day by the UN with a Resolution of the General Assembly of UN from 17 December 1999.
On 12.08.2007 the Youth Program of the BGRF joined the celebrations of this day. The State Agency for Youth and Sports organized a big happening with a concert in front of the National Palace of Culture. An information desk was opened where youth materials were disseminated. The Youth Program of the BGRF presented and disseminated its materials dedicated to the Campaign ''All equal - all different'' and the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All. |

The Youth program participated in Youth exchange |
|
The Youth program of the BGRF participated in Youth exchange in Porto, Portugal, organized by Association Aventur. Bulgarian group visited Porto and the neighbouring Gondomar, Galia, Villa de Castello in the period 20 – 27 October 2006.
The exchange introduced the Portuguese culture, music and dances. The visits in Youth centers in Portugal were very inspiring and we were impressed by the variety of services that they provide: there all youngsters can have free internet, access to libraries, sports and contacts with other youths.
